In early June, my Nannie was diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer. On July 12, she entered heaven's gates and was free from pain for the first time in decades. While I miss her greatly, I am thankful for the lifetime of memories I was able to share with her. And more than that, I am blessed with the peace of knowing I will see her again someday.
At the tail end of our time in Minnesota, we had Nannie's memorial service on July 28th. It was a wonderful celebration of her life. My siblings and I each had the chance to share a tribute to Nannie during the service. Lots of tears were shed, both happy and sad. Thankfully this is just a short goodbye until we meet in heaven again.
We were able to spend some time in MN loving on this guy :) He is pretty sad, he loved getting to spend time with all the kiddos.
While they are hard, I am thankful for circumstances in life that remind me of what is most important ... relationships with the people I love.
