In no particular order ...
I LOVE this stuff! It is delicious! I am not a big juice fan, but this one hits the spot. And if I am lucky, I can find it on sale 2 for $4. Then I buy 4 :)
I am not a fast food fan, so I am not talking about the main course ... but I am talking about dessert! If you don't have a Culver's near you, I am so sorry. But if you do, then you know what I am talking about. Culver's Chocolate Concrete Mixer with Cookie Dough is to die for. Allie and I split one when I was in Ames and now I am hooked! Mmmmmmm!
Before Bret and I got married we took a crash course in Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. The BEST thing we ever did! In these uncertain economic times, these financial principles are sure to give you peace in this area. His principles are simple:
-Use cash only (that way it is impossible to overspend)
-Save up for big purchases. The time you are saving allows you to consider if you really need this item or not.
-Get rid of ALL debt, even low interest loans. Think of what you could do with that money if you weren't making debt payments each month! The only debt he is ok with is your house, but he recommends you put at least 20% as a down payment.
-Have 3 to 6 months of expenses in the bank. Just in case anything happens ... you never know.
-Live like no one else, so you can live like no one else. Meaning, live simply in the beginning and get your finances in order so you can have a worry free, financially speaking, future ahead of you and your family.
Following his guidelines we were able to pay off almost $40,000 in debt in less than two years.
And we/I like listening to his radio show each day ... it is very informative!
Each summer that we have lived here, I have done a Bible Study with friends. We usually decide to do a study by Beth Moore. If you have read anything or done a study by her, you know that she is an incredible teacher. God has truly gifted her with a heart to teach and a desire to see other women following hard after God. We decided to do her Believing God study. I had the privilege of completing this study a few summers ago, but the teachings are just as applicable today. If you want to be challenged in your faith and believe Him more, this is for you.
Any one else have some summer favorites???

Definitely going to try the Raspberry lemonade...yep.
Congratulations on paying off your debt! That's awesome! We are right there with you in seeking Financial Freedom. Honestly, it makes so much sense, but the principles are so tough for people to apply in our consumer/greed-based world. We haven't paid off our debt, but we're applying his principles and hopefully [when I get a job] we will start attacking with vigor what's left of our debt.
Thanks for sharing! I may just have to do a favorites blog now too...you've got me thinking!

Congratulations on paying off so much debt! I really admire your ability and determination to accomplish that! Dan and I are trying very hard to achieve a similar feat~any advice? I was wondering if you have anything about Dave Ramsey or if you could point me in the right direction~I would greatly appreciate it~
Thanks for being a great cousin that I can look up to!
