The Apple Orchard

My friend, Megan, and I have been wanting to go to Wilson's Apple Orchard for a few weeks now. But, due to busy schedules and the flu we had to postpone our trip until this past weekend. We planned to leave Muscatine at 9am so that we could be there when it opened at 10am. It was super cold outside so we bundled up and the three of us headed out. (Megan and her son, Noah, and I)

As we began driving, it started snowing outside .... October 10th ..... snow!

We were determined to enjoy this experience so we kept on driving ... and the snow began getting heavier. We got off the Interstate and turned on to .....

What a funny name for a road! I would smile every time I wrote my address if I lived on this street. Can you see the snow????? Well if you can't here are some more pics ...

And here is Noah enjoying snow for the first time! Doesn't he look happy?!?!? He kept putting his hands up and saying "Fingers? Fingers?" as if he was wondering what these black things on his hands were for and where his fingers went!

Needless to say, we did not meander through Wilson's Apple Orchard and pick buckets full of apples to make pies, crisps, and apple sauce as we had planned. We walked into the store and bought some apples that someone else already picked (on a much nicer day), ate an apple turnover (YUMMY), and got a BIG pumpkin for Noah ...

... that had to be taken away from him because all he wanted to do was play catch with it!

So, due to the inclement weather Megan, Noah, and I were forced to enjoy some Caribou Coffee, Target, and a day full of shopping!
