Punchkin Patch

Or otherwise known as the Pumpkin Patch :) We have been studying pumpkins in Kindergarten and we always end our Pumpkin unit with a trip to the Pumpkin Patch. We were scheduled to go last Friday, but due to the rain we rescheduled for today!

During our Pumpkin unit we learn lots of useful knowledge about pumpkins ....

-A medium sized pumpkin has about 453 seeds in it (give or take 100 because they were counted by Kindergarteners whose counting is not always steady after reaching 15)

-A young pumpkin plant is called a sprout

-Just like orange juice, pumpkins have pulp

So here are some pictures from our adventure today ...

First we went on the hayrack ride

Then we waited patiently after picking our pumpkins

Can you tell we were excited!!!!

Next we painted our pumpkins!

Then we warmed up with some hot chocolate because the temperature this morning was about 35 degrees!!!

And last we had a picnic lunch at the Pumpkin Patch!

And when we arrived back at school a student asked me "When are we eating lunch?" I love Kindergarten!!!
