and the stockings were hung

Ever since we moved into our home I have been bummed that it did not have a fireplace with a mantle to hang stockings at Christmas time. I have tried cute shelves with stocking hangers, hooks on the wall, but nothing is like a mantle above a fireplace.

While visiting Texas in October, we went shopping! We spent the day in Canton, TX. The first weekend of every month they have the greatest flea market of all time! Anything you could ever need ... or not need, you will find there. Clothing, food, furniture, house stuff, and the list would go on forever! As we were walking around I saw a woman with a board painted red with letters on it that said "The stockings were hung". I was on a mission to find it ... and I did!

Yay! And then I found cute stockings at Target! And I already had a great husband who put the brackets on the back so it could hang on the wall :) Merry Christmas!
