The Euken's ... Life as we know it!

January 30, 2012

It's my party!

Miss Mollie had her 1st birthday party this weekend! Just a warning, LOTS and LOTS of pictures ahead!
A yummy chocolate cake for the little lady

And a birthday balloon!

All the Grandparents and two Aunties came in to town to celebrate (and help this momma get ready for the party)

There was a lot of pink! Pizza, fruit, veggies, and LOTS of cake were thoroughly enjoyed by all. And of course, everyone enjoyed Miss Mollie! Here she is in her birthday outfit.

Lots of friends also came to celebrate with Miss Mollie. Here is Luke admiring Mollie's outfit :)

After we ate dinner, Mollie began opening her presents

She was so happy, she couldn't help but clap :)

Mollie tried on her new bike helmet

After opening a book from Auntie Aimee, Miss Mollie wanted nothing to do with the present opening. All she wanted to do was read! So naturally, Luke and Noah helped open the rest of Mollie's presents.

Mollie got some stylin clothes! Including some sweet shades from Auntie Michelle.

However, the most popular present of the night was this activity table from Grammie and Papa. Mollie loved it so much she was willing to share it with her bestie, Avery.

After presents, we moved on to cake :) Papa had a brilliant idea that we should strip Mollie down to her diaper, put a tarp on the ground, and let Mollie go to town on her very own cake! So, we did it!

I think I kind of like it!

Daddy had to help her taste it at first :)

Hmmmm, let me think about it ...

Everyone kept cheering and encouraging her to take a bite, so she thought she should cheer too!

Another taste

It is fun to play with the cake in my hands!

But I don't really like the taste guys!

Help me! I'm all done!

And so after coaxing her to take a few bites, she made some funny faces telling us she was rather disgusted with this cake thing. So, we will try a cupcake on her actual birthday! Thanks to everyone for their generosity and for loving on Mollie. We had a blast! I seriously cannot believe she will be a year old tomorrow!!!!
